BigCommerce Pricing (2026)

By the WBF Editorial Team · Website Builder Finder — Updated August 2026

This page lists what BigCommerce actually charges right now — every plan, both billing cycles, and what separates a store that outgrows Core from one that needs Scale. If you're weighing it against the other major ecommerce platform we cover, see our Shopify pricing page.

The short version: BigCommerce runs from $29 to $299/month, with no free tier. Most stores start on Core, move to Growth for multilingual selling, and only need Scale once they've genuinely outgrown Growth's limits.

Prices reflect BigCommerce's published US plans as of August 2026 and change over time — treat this as a comparative snapshot, not a live quote.

BigCommerce plans at a glance (US pricing)

Plan Per month (annual billing) Per month (monthly billing) Key features
Core$29$39Full ecommerce, blog, SEO — single language
Growth$79$105Adds multilingual store support
Scale$299$399Higher volume ceilings, advanced tooling

What each plan actually includes

There's no free or trial-tier confusion here — every BigCommerce plan is a full ecommerce store from day one. The differences are about scale and market reach, not core functionality.

Core — $29/mo annual ($39 monthly)

Core is a complete single-language store: ecommerce, blogging, and SEO tools included from the start. It's the plan most small and mid-sized stores actually use, and matches Shopify's Basic plan almost dollar-for-dollar.

Growth — $79/mo annual ($105 monthly)

Growth's headline addition is multilingual support — selling into more than one language market. If you're single-market and single-language, this tier buys you little beyond Core; it's a market-expansion plan, not a feature-unlock plan.

Scale — $299/mo annual ($399 monthly)

Scale is a big jump — roughly 4x Growth's price — aimed at high-volume stores that need more advanced built-in tooling and higher processing ceilings. Most stores should confirm they've actually hit Growth's limits before paying for Scale; it's priced for established, high-revenue operations.

Annual vs monthly billing

BigCommerce's annual discount is unusually consistent across tiers: about 26% off Core ($29 vs $39), 25% off Growth ($79 vs $105), and 25% off Scale ($299 vs $399). Unlike builders where the discount shrinks at the top tier, BigCommerce keeps roughly a quarter-off discount whichever plan you're on.

Since annual plans are billed upfront for the full year, Core works out to about $348 at checkout, and Scale to roughly $3,588 — worth confirming against your cash flow before committing, especially at the Scale tier.

Is BigCommerce worth it?

For a serious online store, Core at $29/month is competitively priced and includes ecommerce, blogging, and SEO with nothing gated behind an upgrade — no separate "add ecommerce" tier the way some general-purpose builders require. If you're deciding between BigCommerce and Shopify specifically, their entry prices are close enough that feature fit matters more than cost; our Shopify pricing page covers the comparison point.

Who should skip it: anyone wanting to test an idea for free should look elsewhere — there's no free tier here, and the cheapest option is a paid, full-featured store from day one. And stores that aren't near Growth's volume limits should resist jumping straight to Scale; the 4x price jump is meant for stores that have already proven they need it.
